With over a decade of global experience working in leading restaurants and dessert bars, Perth-born and Singapore-raised Amanda Yong joined Cooee as an integral member of the pre-opening team, crafting the exquisite pastry offering and later undertaking the Sous Chef position.

Amanda discovered her culinary passion during her pivotal younger years spent in Singapore. Amanda excelled at the At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy, where she graduated with a Diploma in Pastry and Bakery Arts. She then embarked on an exciting culinary journey, working in some of the most prestigious destinations in Singapore, including Shangri-La and Salt grill and Sky bar by Luke Mangan.

Following her move to Western Australia, Amanda led the pastry team at Rockpool Bar &Grill before joining The West Australian Food Editor, Rob Broadfield’s top Perth restaurant, Wildflower, as Head Pastry Chef.

Outside of the kitchen, Amanda is passionately active in the food community, participating in many charity-driven events and cultural festivals and recently co-founded Project WOMN, an initiative based on a series of pop-up dinners featuring all-female chefs and entrepreneurs from Western Australia.

The most recent Project WOMN event in July 2021 was an incredible success, raising over $30K for Anglicare WA Young Hearts programme, which provides essential services for child victims experiencing family and domestic violence.

The ambitious Amanda also recently founded an innovative online bakery, Tartes by Amanda, which has swiftly gained a cult following in Perth.

Amanda has also recently been named 2021 Young Achiever of the Year for WA at the Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence.
