Supporting St Pat’s

St Patrick’s Community Support Centre (St Pat’s) has been supporting those experiencing, and at risk of, homelessness in and around Fremantle for 50 years.

Funds raised from the Freo Long Table support St Pat’s work in providing community housing and specialist support services for people facing homelessness.

In 2016, The National Hotel approached St Pat’s with a vision for a new way of raising funds, bringing together the business community and promoting Fremantle as a destination. Within 3 months we put together Fremantle’s first ever Long Table Dinner in the middle of the street.

In the years since the event has continued to grow, to become a well-loved annual event in Fremantle’ calendar.

The event is largely run by a team of volunteers, and thanks to the generous support of many local businesses who spare their time, money, resources and expertise to create a celebration to remember each and every year.

Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that typically features anachronistic technologies and retro-futuristic inventions inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. The genre often blends elements from the Victorian era, including its fashion, architecture, and social norms, with futuristic or fantastical elements.

A marine steampunk theme combines the futuristic, mechanical style of traditional steampunk with the adventure and mystery of the ocean. Imagine Victorian-era technology powered by steam, but with a focus on underwater exploration, naval adventures, and nautical elements. It’s a fusion of maritime lore, brass gadgets, and fantastical, steam-powered machines that would feel at home in a Jules Verne novel like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Marine Steampunk Costume ideas… think Victorian Naval Captains, mechanical mermaids, Victorian deep sea Divers, top hats, goggles, brass adornments.

Dress up in your most fabulous Steampunk attire or feel free to come as you are! The Long Table is a non-judgemental space and you can wear whatever you want.
